Joy was a simple showroom fit-out for a new company that sold furniture and home products. The 2-storey showroom was designed to provide a gallery for their furniture products, a bar-pantry area that also doubled as a hub for social events and shelves to display their collection of terrariums for sale.
On the first floor, a canvas for more furniture sets, shelves for homeware, a chair gallery, an office area and prayer rooms were provided.
We also introduced full-height sliding panels that could sub-divide the large open- plan ground floor space into 2 smaller spaces, that could cater for special events and for creating new backdrops for their furniture sets.
The panels are made of mdf pegboards for some texture and to enable the suspension of display items as appropriate.
The ground floor gallery was designed to be flexible with the introduction of a moveable cabinet that could be used as a display shelves or wall for special exhibitions or product launch, and parked into the pantry area when not in use.
The first floor has a centre pivoting panel of shelves that were translucent, to allow visitors a glimpse through to the chair gallery upon entering the first floor showroom.
The perforated steel plates also mirrored the pegboard’s texture albeit in a different scale. These perforations also functioned as a base for displaying various accessories Joy had for sale.
